Synopsis
In the quiet reaches of a forgotten Canadian island a plan is conceived and readied for the defeat of Hitler. Summer 1940. The Battle of Britain is raging and the RAF desperately needs aircraft to fight off German advances. Lord Beaverbrook, one of Prime Minister Winston Churchill’s ministers, suggests an audacious proposal…flying planes across from Canada. Many call it a suicide mission, North Atlantic aviation is in its infancy and winter flying is unheard of. Beaverbrook turns to Captain Bennett to mastermind the daring Allied plan. Chances are taken, nerves are frayed, hearts are broken but Bennett eventually gets his chance to lead the 10 hour perilous voyage across the ocean.
