One of anime's most influential and enduring classics, Space Battleship Yamato, is to receive a sequel.

Known in the west as STAR BLAZERS, this series was instrumental in introducing anime to the west, not to mention making a big impression on writers and artists in both Japan and the West.

STAR BLAZERS showed many viewers for the first time that an animated series could have mature themes, developed and changeable characters, and longer story arcs that moved away from the episodic status quo

The original producer, Yoshinobu Nishizaki, is heading the new project, which is set in 2220, or 21 years after the first Yamato story.

An expanding black hole threatens Earth, so three hundred million people set forth into space to find a new home. The fleet is attacked, and the Yamato leads the counterstrike. Susumu Kodai, the hero of the first series, is now a space captain with a daughter named Miyuki with his wife Yuki (the heroine of the first series). (ANN)

Good Evening,

This update is as of Saturday Afternoon 7th February. This is a general notice for your information, for more detail please contact me or the nearest local depot directly. Ingham remains isolated and is again flood bound. It remains unlikely to open over the weekend. Major interruptions to all services north of Townsville are continued and will be prolonged, only essential freight is travelling to Cairns and is arriving via sea or air at this point. The monsoonal low continues to travel south

Cairns and surrounding districts and Hinterland
Bruce Hwy is closed to all vehicles at Ingham and is expected to remain closed. Emergency services and emergency relief is still active in Ingham. No services have passed through Ingham since Sunday. The back route North of Charters Towers to the Lynd also remains closed at this stage, the road west of Townsville washed away and requiring extensive repairs.

Brisbane to Townsville (including Townsville local)
The Bruce Hwy between Ayr and Home Hill was closed yesterday until approximately 7am this morning. See attached for the crossing that was effected - the road plant was used to clear debris from the highway to keep it open, still reduced to one lane. Hervey's Range Rd west of Townsville is closed, this is the back road from Townsville to Cairns. Photos of this area are also provided for reference. (Source - Townsville Bulletin Website)

Mackay to Townsville and Coastal Districts
Bruce Hwy at Bowen is open with caution. Drivers travelling in this area should carry provisions including a change of clothes, bottled water and food. Bruce Hwy at Proserpine is also open with caution with water over the road in some areas south of Proserpine. Local rainfall was light yesterday and last night.

Townsville to Cloncurry and Mt Isa
Flinders Hwy opened this morning and services heading west from Townsville were sent Saturday afternoon. The Burdekin River has started to rise once again as flood waters from upstream run down. It is possible this road will suffer further road closures early next week.

Brisbane to Mt Isa and Cloncurry
Services are operating through Roma, Longreach and Winton at this stage. This service is being operated by Gavin Swan based on road conditions.

Brisbane to Darwin
Barkly Hwy is open. All heavy vehicles are restricted to 100% statutory axle mass, no mass concessions. Due to the extensive closure of this road, services will take some time to return to normal.

Southern States to Townsville
Due to road closures and services caught in transit, the decision was made this morning to cancel northbound services Saturday to Townsville and Cairns from Sydney and Melbourne. This should allow us to complete existing services, position equipment and provide all drivers with adequate rest prior to the start of the new week. Townsville received B-Doubles this morning from Sydney and Melbourne but Cairns remains closed. This situation in Ayr remains changeable and is being monitored by local emergency management groups.

Perth - Darwin Service
Road Closures in the Northern Territory on the Victoria Hwy and the Victoria Bridge remain, cutting the direct access between Perth and Darwin west of Katherine at Victoria River. Updates can also be obtained from http://www.dpi.nt.gov.au/

Ladies and Gentlemen,

The following information is as it stands in Country Victoria today with respect to the Bushfires.

Mountain Blue ? Hills Region

Deliveries to the following towns will not be possible today and in some cases for an extended period of time.

Narbethong, Buxton, King Lake, King Lake West, Marysville, Pheasants Creek, Toolangi, Steels Creek, Dixons Creek and Yarra Glen.

The deliveries to Yarra Glen will be attempted which includes the bank but they are only letting residents through here. The freight will be given to a driver who is a resident and they will see how we go. The banks have been delivered and will be picked up.

The freight for the towns in bold has been given back to the Dx Linehaul driver to return to Freight Solutions as these towns were completely decimated.

Seymour / Kilmore / Wallan / Broadford

The Seymour agent is advising that deliveries to Thornton, Taggerty and Eildon will not be able to be done today. There is very little left of the Townships of Glenburn and Flowerdale and this freight will be returned to Freight Solutions should it come through.

Deliveries and pick ups in the Kilmore / Wallan and Broadford areas should be ok but it is a case of seeing where we can get to.

The Pm Linehaul into Essendon this evening maybe delayed by 45mins due to the fact that the normal rendezvous location at Clonbinane is not accessible and they will have to meet in Seymour.

Pick ups in the Alexandra and Yea Townships will not be able to be done this afternoon due to these towns being under threat. The banks have been notified and the driver will do his pick ups in Mansfield now and head back to Seymour via the Hume Hwy.

Wangaratta

A major Fire is heading to the town of Beechworth. At this stage the agent believes all deliveries will be done, however things could change quickly. Depending on the situation some afternoon services may be affected.

Pick ups should be ok in Beechworth. However we have not been able to get to Mount Beauty and as a result no deliveries or pick ups have been done in and around this Township, including the banks.

Albury

This region is affected by some road closures only. They will attempt everything but there may be some towns on the Victorian side of the border that they might not be allowed to get to.

The situation here has got a worse since this morning with more fires breaking out. All pick ups will be fine in the major towns of Albury and Wodonga and no bank pick ups have been affected. However some of the outlying Townships we may not be able to get to.

Bendigo

The towns affected here are Maiden Gully, Long Gully and Kangaroo Flat. Private House Deliveries and Pick ups may not be able to be done in these locations.

There is a new fire in Redesdale which is heading towards Heathcote. Pick ups in Heathcote may be affected.

Warragul

The agent is advising that all deliveries and pick ups should be ok in this region. NO Change.

Morwell / Traralgon

The agent is advising that all deliveries and pick ups should be ok in this region. NO Change.

Sale

The agent is advising that they can not get into the town of Yarram.

At this stage we can not deliver the bank bags to the CBA, ANZ, Westpac, NAB and the Bendigo Bank. NO Change
