Makoto Shinka, creator and director of the stunning VOICES OF A DISTANT STAR and THE PLACE PROMISED IN OUR EARLY DAYS has just taken home the award for Best Animated Feature Film at the first annual Asia Pacific Screen Awards, which took place on November 13 on the Gold Coast, Queensland. 5 Centimetres per second beat out other nominees such as Keichi Hara's SUMMER DAYS WITH COO.

The awards is a joint sponsored event by CNN International, UNESCO, the International Federation of Film Producers Associations, and the State Government of Queensland, Australia. Designed to help promote and showcase film making in the Asia Pacific region, it is the hope that this award ceremony will become an annual event.

MADMAN RECEIVES A LANDSLIDE OF NOMINATIONS.

MELBOURNE, Wednesday, 24 October, 2007 - The L'Oréal Paris 2007 AFI Awards nominations have been announced, and Madman has received an overwhelming amount of nods for key '07/'08 Australian film and television DVD releases.

Madman's Australian feature film DVD releases Noise (Oct), Romulus, My Father (Nov), Lucky Miles (Dec) and The Home Song Stories ('08) have received a near clean-sweep of crucial award nominations in the Feature Film category including Best Film, Best Screenplay, Best Lead Actor and Best Lead Actress. Romulus, My Father has received a nomination in every Feature Film category.

Words From the City (Dec) has received several nominations in the Non-Feature category, including: Best Documentary, Best Direction, Best Cinematography, Best Editing and Best Sound.

The Madman-distributed SBS titles WILFRED, The Circuit and 4 (Dec) have also received multiple nominations, including Best Television Comedy Series, Best Telefeature or Mini Series and Best Documentary Respectively

Also coming to DVD in 2008 from Planet Mad, the Channel 10 series I Got A Rocket has received a nomination for Best Children's Television Drama.

Noise, WILFRED and The Circuit are available now on DVD from Madman. Romulus, My Father is available Nov 7. Lucky Miles, Words From the City and 4 will be available from Dec 5. The Home Song Stories, and I Got A Rocket will be available early 2008.

October titles delayed

The Australian premiere of Naruto The Movie - Ninja Clash in the Land of Snow will be held at the following cities and cinemas:

Canberra - 4:30pm - Dendy Canberra
Brisbane - 4:30pm - Dendy Brisbane

The Sydney and Melbourne events will feature special guest appearances by Naruto voice actors. Sydney - Liam O'Brien (Gaara, Script writer for Naruto The Movie - Ninja Clash in the Land of Snow), Melbourne - Stephanie Sheh (Hinata Hyuga)

The Sydney screening is being run in conjunction with the Supanova Pop Culture Expo.

The Melbourne screening is being run in conjunction with the Armageddon Multimedia Expo.
