NOISE gets into Sundance!

December 01 2006

The Australian feature film NOISE will have it World Premiere at the 2007 Sundance Film Festival.

NOISE will screen in the World Cinema Competition: Dramatic, a competitive section of the festival focused on exceptional independent filmmaking from around the globe. Previous Australian films screened in this section include Wolf Creek and Chopper. NOISE is written and directed by Matthew Saville and produced by Trevor Blainey, with Brendan Cowell (Love My Way) in the lead role of Graham McGahan.
With the competitive line-up announced in the US yesterday ? and by the AFC in Sydney today ? Sundance festival director Geoffrey Gilmore says of Saville, "That's a director that you're going to hear about in the future.?

NOISE tells the story of a young cop, Graham McGahan, who suffers chronic, idiopathic tinnitus. After a mass murder on a suburban train, McGahan is pitched into the chaos that follows this tragic event. He struggles to clear the screaming in his head while the community around him deals with the crime and its aftermath.

Madman Cinema will release NOISE in theatres nationally in 2007.

Madman Entertainment would like to inform its customers that regretfully, there will be a DELAY for the release of FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST V11 (MMA3357) due to technical difficulties.

Instead, FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST volume 11 and 12 will be released together on December 6th.

We thank keen Fullmetal Fans for their patience and invite them to join us on a wild ride to the finale of Fullmetal, as we follow the December Double release of volumes 11 and 12 with final volume 13 in January and the FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST MOVIE: CONQUERER OF SHAMBALA in February.

Fullmetal Alchemist the Movie: Conquerer of Shambala was premiered to a rapturous reception in Sydney and Melbourne earlier this week, presented by special guests, voice actors Crispin Freeman and Vic Mognogna as part of Madman's 10th Anniversary.

Garnering great reviews nationwide is the new Martin Scorcese epic, "The Departed". A brilliant crime thriller with an all star cast, the film depicts two lives in parallel.

One is an undercover cop (Leonardo DiCaprio) hanging to his identity by a thread, buried deep in an organised crime gang, and the other, a decorated officer (Matt Damon), heads up the investigating unit, but is really a mole for the masterful crime boss (Jack Nicholson).

The tension racks up as the lies and deception build to an inevitable collision. A tightly plotted story of right and wrong, deception, betrayal - The Departed is a note perfect remake of the Hong Kong classic Infernal Affairs.

Totally unmissable, with Hong Kong superstars Tony Leung and Andy Lau as the two police leading double lives. This clever, complex crime story expanded into two sequels, all available now on Eastern Eye.
