TOLL IPEC - Flood Update 12/1/11
Brisbane Update
No pickups will be completed in the Brisbane area today, some deliveries may be completed to the small amount of suburbs that are unaffected by the flooding, this will be reviewed with the personal safety of our drivers being the most important issue.
Larapinta has skeleton staff only and all will be sent home once the sortation of freight is completed this am.
Sunshine Coast update
• Maroochydore – No effect on local roads with the exception of the Sunshine Coast hinterland some road closures such as Maleny and Montville
• .Bruce Hwy is open from Brisbane to the Sunshine Coast
• Caboolture – Deliveries and Pick ups around Caboolture, Morayfield and Narangba will be affected with localised flooding in the Caboolture region. In the inner west Kilcoy, Esk, Yarraman, Nanango, Tarong and Murgon remain flooded with road closures. The Blackbutt Range remains closed due to landslides.
• Gympie – The Bruce Hwy remains cut south and north of Gympie and the town has localised flooding. The depot has been evacuated of all equipment and there is no freight in the depot. It is expected that Gympie will be remain cut for the next couple of days.
• Maryborough – The town of Maryborough is operating as normal with no further water on roads, however Salt Water Bay creek is rising and there is a risk of Harvey Bay being cut from Maryborough. Access through to Maryborough is not possible with the Bruce Hwy cut at Gympie. Mundubbera and Gayndah have road closures due to flooding with no vehicles getting through. There are limited fuel supplies in the region of Maryborough.
• Bundaberg – There is some localised flooded roads in Bundaberg and the river is slowly rising again. No access Southbound past Gympie on the Bruce Hwy.
Gold Coast update
Linehaul
• All inbound units from SYD stuck in Grafton
• We have received our MEL Double and BNE single
• Our outbound OOL – SYD unit from last night has arrived in SYD.
Local
Please see the below local areas affected. These are outer area suburbs so the impact on our customers will be minimal. All other suburbs in our area will be serviced as per normal.
• ADVANCETOWN - GOLD COAST SPRINGBROOK ROAD
Gold Coast - Spring brook Road is closed between Belmont Park Drive and Pine Creek Rd due to flooding. Also closed at the Austin Ville Rd turn off.
• BEECHMONT - BEECHMONT ROAD
BEECHMONT ROAD, BEECHMONT is currently closed between Bottle tree Lane and 2km from Nerang - Murwillumbah Road intersection.
• CLAGIRABA - CLAGIRABA ROAD
There is water over CLAGIRABA ROAD at CLAGIRABA near Nerang Beaudesert Rd.

HENRI ROBERT DRIVE, TAMBORINE MOUNTAIN Henri Robert Dr Mt Tamborine has experienced a land slip however is still open
• TUGUN - PACIFIC MOTORWAY
TUGUN BYPASS, TUGUN.
A landslide occurred on the southbound lanes on the Tugun Bypass about one kl/m south of the Stewart Road interchange.
One southbound lane is closed and traffic is reduced to 40km
• WONGAWALLAN - TAMBORINE OXENFORD ROAD 04:53 AM 12/01/2011
TAMBORINE OXENFORD ROAD, WONGAWALLAN. Tamborine Oxenford Road at Wongawallan Creek is closed.
We have cancelled all Temps and outside hire vehicles and there will be a toolbox at 0730 to advise drivers / contractors of the road closures, to ensure all freight available is delivered and that we will update on tomorrow later in the day.
Rockhampton Update
The Bruce Highway is closed at Yeppen Crossing which is the southern entrance into Rockhampton.
Authorities predict the highway will be closed until at least this coming weekend.
This crossing is also the main road to:
- Gracemere
- Emerald
- Blackwater
- Duaringa
- Biloela
- Woorabinda
We can still travel north through to Mackay, Townsville and Cairns. Far western freight is being delivered into Longreach, Winton, Barcaldine and Blackall.
Emerald freight is being stored in Brisbane due to the inland roads being closed until further notice.
The Bruce Highway is also closed at Gympie which is stopping vehicles moving north.
Gladstone is not receiving freight due to the highway being closed at Gympie.
Rockhampton are still receiving Priority freight each day which is being driven from Mackay.
This freight is being sorted and delivered upon arrival.
Toowoomba Update
Toowoomba depot is closed again today for deliveries and pickups as no freight is currently able to get into Toowoomba.
The flooding issue has cleared for Toowoomba however clean up is continuing at this stage.
We have received NO Line Haul trailers from either Brisbane or Sydney due to roads being closed.
But we are also now affected by the flooding around the Lockyer Valley, Ipswich and the Brisbane area.
