JASPER MORELLO has been NOMINATED for a BAFTA (British Academy of Film & Television Arts) Award for Best Short Animation.

Having picked up 2 AFI awards, 2 IF Awards and the Dendy Award (Sydney Film Festival), the prestigious 'Cristal' grand prize at the Annecy International Animation Festival as well as many other accollades, JASPER is winning a deserved place at the pinnacle of the animation sphere.

The BAFTA nomination cements the international reputation of this silhouette animation about a disgraced aeronautical navigator who flees his home in search of redemption and a cure for the plague that afflicts his wife and society at large. Animator/director Anthony Lucas and his partner/producer Julia Lucas are currently at the Sundance Film Festival where the film will screen in the Animation Spotlight Program.

THE MYSTERIOUS GEOGRAPHIC EXPLORATIONS OF JASPER MORELLO will be released on DVD on 15 March 2006. The DVD includes Anthony Lucas's short films as well as commentaries and a documentary on the world of Jasper Morello.
